                                                        University Life
    Since 1940 until now university life has been changed over the years. The populations of Penn State international students at that time were few compared to our current time.  Even the numbers of female who were studying science and engineering at that time were few. For example, my partner Fay from Foxdale Village who is 90 years old, when I told her about my major (Environmental Engineering); she was surprised and shocked at the same time, she said that you are girl, and it will be hard for you to study it,  engineering for men only. Also, according to Daily Collegian (Feb. 22, 1955) p. 20, “Old State made few concessions to these first six women (784 males were enrolled that year) who attended the same courses as the men—focusing primarily on agriculture, science and engineering”. In addition, the pictures that I sow in La Vie 1949 to 1959, the majority of them were men  
    However, the university life changed now. A lot of women now are studying science and engineering even me. Also, the populations of Penn State international students are increased overall. Many international students come to Penn State for better education and to improve their English. Women also start to pay attention more to their interests. In concluding, the community now is more open to the women education.

There is a lot of things happened to Oliver. One of them is that Fagin gave Oliver a new pair of boots. Oliver was wondering why he have him the boot. He thought that he may let him go( give him freedom). However, he gave him the boot, because he want him to go Bill Sikes’s house. Oliver want to know why he is going there, but Fagin won't to tell him any things. he just tell him to stay quiet, don't make Sikes angry, and he left a book for Oliver to read. Oliver start to read the book that Fagin give it to him.

1. How did this trip compare to the expectations you had before we went?
I could not imagine it would be amazing like that, I really enjoyed my time to be there
also. when we arrive there their welcomed was very wonderful.


2 .What did you enjoy?  What was challenging?
I enjoy every things there, and I really like the person that I talk to her, she share some stories of her life with me.
there was no thing challenging for me except walked back to home :)

3.  What advice do you have for future IECP students taking a trip similar to this one?
IECP should make trip like this for all of the student to let them know more about American society

There were a stranger man looking for Mr.Bumble, and that because he was like to hear some information about Oliver' s mother. He was looking for the nurse woman for Oliver' s mom. Mr.Bumble told him that she died, however, he want more money from the man. So, he said for him that one woman had been with the nurse when she died, and she had heard some secret from her. (This woman his wife). Also, they did not give him enough information.

"The weeks slipped contentedly past, and spring turned into summer. Oliver was now a strong and healthy boy, and very fond of Rose and Mrs. Maylie _ as they were of him" (page 57, para 2)Oliver will finally enjoying his life. this so interesting to me you know why? because since I started reading this story, I did not see any of happiness in his life. However, I still do not know what is going to happen for him. I wish he could stay happy for the rest of his life.

I had read some thing different from Oliver Twist which is The Fault in Our Stars. I've read just the beginning of the story. I really feel sad and pity about Hazel at the beginning, because she has a cancer. However, she try her best to overcome her illness. She Compliment her life normally. she make friends;I feel more happier about that. I did not read that much of chapter 1that why I write short about my emotion.

There are a lot of events in which I read. Since Mr. Brownlow( gentleman )  send Oliver to the bookseller to return some books, Oliver' s life has been changed. the Dodger and Oliver' s old friends catch him when he was in his way to the bookseller. He started to cry loudly, just to get help from any one.but there was no supporter for him.  also,the thing that caught my attention, Oliver was not thinking about what is going to happen for him ! He was thinking about what the gentleman will think about him, and that was when he said to the Dodger" the books belong to the kind old gentleman who took me into his home. send him back the books and the money he will think I stole them" (Rogers page 37). In this situation, Oliver shows his faithfulness and honesty in spite of his age. I really want to read more to know more about what going to happen to Oliver :)
